NEWS: HRCO’s staff inspired and invigorated with CSF II support

July 29, 2014 - The Human Rights Council (HRCO) organised a 4-day capacity building training to its staff from July 25th - 28th, 2014 in Bishoftu, Oromiya region, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Human Right Commission. 
The training was officially opened by the Deputy Chairperson, HRCO Board of Directors and with key note address by the representative of the Technical Assistance Unit (TAU) for Ethiopia-EU CSFII.
The Human Rights Council (HRCO) is one the 18 organisations that is implementing the Ethiopia-European Union CSFII Programme supported projects.
One of the HRCO project activities is providing capacity building training on Project Cycle Management (PCM), fund raising , resource mobilisation, and principles of human rights and rule of law to its staff.
At the end of the 4-day training the existing and newly recruited staff of HRCO were equipped with knowledge and skills on project cycle management such monitoring and evaluation and logical framework; trends, challenges, and options for local fund raising and proposal writing, as well as on the concepts of human rights, democracy and rule of law. The staff came from the secretariat and regional branch offices of Bahir Dar, Hawassa, Jimma and Lekemt, and Dire Dawa.
The trainees reiterated that the training was fruitful and inspired them to commit themselves to effectively and efficiently  implement  the CSF II supported project, as well as advocate for the promotion of  human rights and rule of law in Ethiopia.
 The HRCO and the TAU noted that the training achieved its purpose in terms of enhancing the internal capacity and human development of HRCO and improve its partnership with major stakeholders.
