One year ago, on 6 February 2014, the first of our 18 grant contracts has been signed with IMPACT, to implement a project strengthening maternal health in Afar and Somali regions. On the same day, contracts were also signed with the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA), to work with micro and small entrepreneurs and promoting women entrepreneurship, and with the Ethiopian Elderly and Pensioners’ National Association (EEPNA), whose objective is to empower older people and ensure the respect of older people's rights.
Today, all 18 grant projects under the CSF II are under full implementation, involving a total of 48 Ethiopian Civil Society organisations. The path from contract signature to field level operation was not always smooth, but by now, the grantees are delivering great results and achievements in capacity building, facilitating productive interactions among stakeholders, in the promotion of women and sustainable development. A number of trainings, workshops, dialogue forums, panel discussions and other awareness raising events have been organised in the country's regional states as well as in Addis Ababa. Under PROJECTS, you will find further information on the different actions. You can also hear about the grantees' work in different FM radio and TV programmes they are producing.
The Technical Assistance Unit, that accompanies the CSOs during the whole project implementation, congratulates the grantees on their successes so far and wishes all involved parties good luck for the upcoming project activities!
